Tonsils

My goal is to write at least once a month. That's a huge goal for me.
So, I took Makenzie to the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor today. She will have her tonsils removed on December 2nd. We had hoped to have it done over Thanksgiving so she wouldn't miss too much school, but apparently, that is a popular week to have surgery. The surgeon is taking out a bunch of tonsils that week. Her Human Anatomy and Physiology teacher gave her extra credit for taking notes at the doctor's office and she will get lots of extra credit if she brings in her actual tonsils after the surgery. Sadly, she won't be able to perform at the Christmas concert at the high school in December. She was very excited about this concert because the last one was not fun (story for another day).
Allie is becoming quite the swimmer. She was in our pool for hours and hours everyday all summer with her best friend, Carissa. We put her in swimming lessons in August and now she is at the highest level. She is very excited to race Kandra in the local pool over Christmas break.
The highlight of my day is webcamming with baby Brandon. He is so handsome. And I'm pretty sure the highlight of his day is seeing his grandma.

Swimming Lessons

Today was my last day of swimming lessons. It has been great! I have always been scared of deep water. I made sure all my kids learned how to swim, so they wouldn't have this fear. After going to visit Kandra this summer, I decided I needed to get over this fear. Luckily, Joe was teaching the adult swimming class at the Aloha pool. Joe taught Kandra and Brittani when we first moved here 13 years ago. He was the best teacher and we always hoped they would get him as a teacher each time they moved up a level. I had a panic attack two nights before I started lessons. I really didn't know if I would be able to follow through with it. Since I had paid for it, I didn't want to waste my money, so I went to the first class. He didn't make me go in the deep water the first few classes, so I survived the anxiety. After 8 lessons, I am now swimming in deep water!!! Yay! I have decided to take the next level of swimming class. I start again on Monday. I am not completely over my fear, but it is getting better and better. After I get this conquered, I think I will start working on my fear of hospitals. Anyway, Allie is also in swimming lessons. She was very upset that I made her take swimming lessons at first. She found that she is a natural in the water just like Kandra. So now she is loving it. She just finished her second session and has skipped several levels. She is now in the second highest level. She jumped off the diving board for the first time today. She was so nervous, but she did it. I am hoping she will continue swimming and join the high school swim team in the future.

Brandon

I thought I would talk about my darling baby grandson. His name is Brandon and he is just over 7 months old. I went to South Carolina when he was 2 days old to help Kandra and Brian. We were homeschooling Makenzie at the time, so she came with me. It was a wonderful experience. My darling little girl had a little boy. I got to take him up to my room every night and rock him to sleep. We were there for 2 1/2 weeks. Luckily, I get along great with my son-in-law and we all had a great time. Kandra has a new home that is beautiful and has a lagoon and forest behind it. It was peaceful and beautiful. Brandon is growing so fast. I am lucky I get to see him every day on the webcam. Kandra says he gets excited when he hears the computer ring. He is a very busy boy, has beautiful blonde hair, darling blue eyes and is a very happy little boy. They will be here to visit us over Christmas. I can't wait to see our precious little boy.

Hmmm.....

So, I have been watching the Olympics. There is a 41 year old mom who is a swimmer. So I can't use age as an excuse to be out of shape. I am learning to like to exercise, but I have a long way to go.

Okay, fine

Everyone keeps telling me to get a blog. Even my husband is hassling me about it. So, fine. Here it is.
